Power Phase Review Home
Review of the different
types of power phase available. Several different topics listed, all very
informative.
3 Phase Power
A common source of electrical
power transmission. This type of phase power is much more economical when
powering your equipment.
Single Phase Power
Most commonly used power for
residential and businesses that need power for lighting, heating and
cooling. This type of phase power does not supply a revolving magnetic
field.
2 Phase Power
2 Phase power is an early
20th century multiple phase that alternates the electric distribution
system. One of the advantages of 2 phase power was to start electric motors.
Three phase power has basically replaced 2 phase power.
3 Phase Power on Single Phase Power
Most residential and businesses
only offer single phase power. You can convert you single phase power to 3
phase power by using a phase converter.
Rotary Phase Converter
The rotary converter is the most widely used power converter
on the market today. The rotary converters convert your single phase
power to 3 phase power giving your equipment a smooth sine wave with little
or no maintenance for years to come.
Static Phase Converter
The static phase converter has
been around the longest in the industry but the uses on these are very
limited. They basically only jump start you three phase equipment for
a matter of seconds which can give you problems down the line.
Distribution of Three
Phase Power in the USA
Most residential and commercial areas are only supplied with
single phase power in the USA. There are some commercial areas that
have recently installed three phase power to places such as factories and
large office buildings.
Harmonic Distortion
Harmonic distortion has become
an increasing problem for machine and equipment operators. Harmonics can
reduce the life of the equipment and interrupt equipment productivity.

Static Phase Converter
ARE THEY TRUE PHASE CONVERTERS?

The least expensive phase converter on
the market today is the static phase converter. Why is it the
least expensive? The static phase converter is the oldest type of
phase converter around and it is basically made up of two components, which
are, a voltage sensitive relay and a standard capacitor that is connected to
your equipment motor. What happens here is the capacitor is only used
to start your equipment or machinery and then the relay comes in and
disconnects the starter capacitor after your equipment motor has started.
All the
static phase converter does is start your equipment it does not provide
three phase power. Therefore,
the reason why the static phase converter is the least expensive on
the market because it only does part of the job to giving your equipment 3
phase power.
The performance of a static phase
converter is rather poor as it does not do a good job of balancing your
power on your equipment. In turn you will receive harmonic distortion and
vibrations in your equipment. You might even experience overheating of
your equipment because you are not getting a good balanced flow of power
voltages. It is not advised to use a static phase converter on
larger motors or equipment. The result could be very costly to you as you
could experience burnout on your equipment or machinery. A static phase
converter cannot ever be used on more than one piece of equipment
either. They are simply used for smaller type of applications like mixers,
small milling machines, bench grinders, drill presses, etc.
It is very important to know what your
equipment needs as a power source to run efficiently and cost effectively.
When we say that the static phase converter is the least expensive
phase converter around we mean that the initial purchase price is less
expensive. If you purchase a static phase converter and find
out that your equipment isn't running the way it should, you could
experience damage to your machinery or equipment. You could then experience
downtime to your business and you may have to replace or repair your
equipment. The long run of the purchase price of your static phase
converter has just now increased in a sizeable matter.
If you find that what you need to power
your 3 phase equipment is true three phase power, you need to check into
purchasing a rotary phase converter instead of a static phase converter.
But again,
make sure that it is a true 3 phase rotary converter.
This will ensure that your equipment will run smoothly and all the voltage
power will be balanced and your equipment should not be in any danger of
over heating or breaking down. Your equipment then should run for many year
to come with little or no maintenance.
ACE
Phase
Converters has been found to carry the best manufactured rotary
phase converters around in the market today. All of their phase converters
are guaranteed for 10 years and they use nothing but the best quality
materials to build their phase converters. So if you think you need a
static phase converter, you might want to re-think this idea and go with
a good quality rotary phase converter like
ACE
Phase Converter has to offer.

ACE Phase
Converters are the best reliable phase converters.
Custom-made products are also available.
